Merrilee Webb – Owner, Pianist, Engineer

Merrilee received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Choral Music Education from Brigham Young University Provo and was named BYU’s “Most Outstanding Musician” in 1983.  Merrilee worked at Dixie State University from 2009-2018 where she taught group piano courses, women’s choir and founded and directed Raging Red, DSU’s Song and Dance Performance Team.  Miss Webb taught at Brigham Young University Hawaii from 2002-2005 where she served as the director for the Men’s and Women’s choirs, taught theory, music education courses, group piano and voice.  She taught choral music for twelve years in both junior and senior high schools in Sandy, Kearns and Bountiful, Utah.  While teaching at Bountiful High School, Miss Webb maintained an average of 700 students in her choral program.  Merrilee founded and directed “We Also Sing!” a women’s choir of 350 voices and “Because We Sing!” a men’s choir of 150 voices from 2009-2018. Miss Webb has been the president of Infinity Business Ventures, Inc. since 1996 and owns a successful recording studio.  The studio is also responsible for building orchestral minus tracks for musicals as well as producing rehearsal tracks for All-State and Honor choirs across the country. Merrilee currently teaches private piano, voice and several performance classes in Sanpete County, Utah.

Leah Tarrant

Leah attended Brigham Young University, Idaho (formerly Ricks College) and later received her Bachelors Degree in Music Education and Vocal Performance from Utah State University.  Leah was privileged to be a member of the Utah Festival Opera Company for three summers. Leah has been teaching private voice for the past 25 years and is currently in her 18th year as Choral Director at Taylorsville High School in Taylorsville, Utah.   She is a member of the American Choral Director’s Association and the Utah Music Educators Association and had the privilege of directing the UMEA Women’s Honor Choir in January 2007, the Ogden Women’s Honor Choir in November 2007 and the Ogden Mixed Honor Choir in February 2014. Throughout her teaching career she has been the recipient of several teaching awards including the Sallie Mae Award for being the outstanding first year teacher (1996) and the KSL Teacher Feature from KSL and Zion’s Bank (2005). Leah is married to Glenn Tarrant and they have two beautiful young children who are already showing their musical talents. Leah is very proud of her upbringing in New Mexico and Texas

Jennifer Hohl

Jennifer was born and raised in Seattle, Washington where she won the Washington State Solo & Ensemble Festival as an alto soloist both her Junior and Senior years of high school.  Jennifer earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from Brigham Young University.  While attending BYU on a Voice Performance Scholarship she sang under the direction of Dr. Ronald Staheli, Dr. Mack Wilberg, and Dr. Ralph Woodward.  During her tenure at BYU, Jennifer was asked to solo with the BYU University Singers, Men’s Choir, Concert Choir and A Capella choirs. Jennifer is known for her rich alto timbre and versatility and has performed as a soloist with the Utah Symphony, Dr. Brady Allred and the Utah Choral Arts Society and Dr. Michael Huff and the Utah Voices. Some performance highlights include:  The Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (over 400 performances), the Witch in Into the Woods, Ruth in Pirates of Penzance, andDolly Levi in Hello Dolly. Jennifer has been a Vocal Coach for over twenty years and has been an adjunct professor at Weber State University and taught at the University of Utah.  Jennifer lives just outside of Salt Lake City with her husband, four children, singing Beagle, Buster and darling but yappy Yorkshire Terrier, Chester.

Kelly DeHaan

Kelly received his undergraduate and graduate degrees in choral education and choral conducting from the University of Utah.  During his undergraduate studies, Kelly co-taught singing for the students in the Actor’s Training Program at that University and was able to study singing with Doctors Robert Breault and David Power.  Kelly has been teaching high school choir at his beloved West Jordan High School since 1997 and received the Utah High School Activities Association Music Educator of the Year Award in 2009 and has been nominated for the Huntsman Award in Education three times. He is devoted to his students.  For each of the past ten years he has been privileged to be a guest honor choir clinician/conductor for various districts and age groups across Utah. Shortly after receiving his BA, Kelly was recruited to be the assistant accompanist and later the associate conductor for the Utah Symphony Chorus.  Kelly has been seen on stage at many of the local theaters in the Salt Lake Valley.  He has also musically directed over 45 productions at the Hale Centre Theatre, the Grand Theater, and at the LDS Conference Center Theater. Kelly is a sought after vocal teacher and coach. He is a respected clinician and accompanist. Kelly is also a busy studio musician and was a soloist/member of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. In 2005, he had the distinct honor of being the conductor for the 16,000 voice Day of Celebration Choir. Kelly has been conducting the Sterling Singers since 1996, and has watched that group grow from 40 members to over 380 singers.  From 2010-2013 he was also associated with the Utah Voices and was honored to be their Principal Accompanist and Assistant Conductor.  Kelly is the proud father of four and husband of one.

Heidi Webb

Heidi received her Bachelor’s Degree in Music from Dixie State University. She is currently working on her Master’s Degree in Choral Conducting at Brigham Young University, studying under Dr. Ronald Staheli. Heidi grew up in California, where she had the opportunity to sing in honor choirs, community choirs and several community theatre programs. She also studied piano for 8 years and learned to accompany at a young age. As a choral artist, she has traveled to Hawaii, Canada, Germany, Austria, China, and around the continental United States. She has worked as a musician for Tuacahn Center for the Arts in Southern Utah. In addition to having a textbook choral soprano voice, she is also a sought-after accompanist for choral groups, musical productions, and solo artists.

Alto 1 and 2

Anne Puzey

Anne earned her Music Education with Vocal Emphasis degree from Brigham Young University.  She was a member of the BYU University Singers.  She has been the Music Department Chair and Choral Director at Bennion Jr. High for 25 years.  Anne has been a presenter for the Utah Music Education Association and has served as vocal coach for the Utah Opera and Symphony Companies.  She has been a music director for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Hale Centre Theatre, Westminster College and many other theatre companies across Utah.  She has sung professionally with The Wasatch Front Chorale, Sterling Singers, Canti Con Brio, The Cathedral of the Madeline Choir and Gloriana.
